Cajon Workshop
Cajon, pronounced ka'chon, is a percussive musical instrument. Originally from Cuba and Peru, the cajon was simply a fish or sugar cane crate (cajon = Spanish for crate/drawer) and today the cajon has become an important part of flamenco. But the cajon has also found its way into modern music in Central Europe and the USA, whether because of the amazing variety of sounds or because of its ease of use at small club concerts, around the campfire or in the children's room at home. It also makes a great seat and you can spend your time first building and then playing.
We build a high-quality cajon from multi-layered birch multiplex plywood, strips, wood glue and a few screws. The sound hole is already in your back panel.
Maximum of 8 participants, no previous knowledge required.
To make it really fun, please come in appropriate work clothes!
We glue and sand, so things should be allowed to get dirty.
