Gelliprint - Photo transfer

Anyone who has heard of “Gelli Print” probably also knows the question of how to transfer your own photo, e.g., of loved ones or your last vacation, onto the printing plate, color it yourself, and print it as an image.

As is often the case, with the right technique, it's not difficult at all.

Here you will learn what requirements such a photo (on a PC or cell phone) must meet, how to prepare it as a print template, and how printing with the gel plate works.
You can then practice transferring a print template with black acrylic paint onto the plate until you have created a good negative impression of the template. Depending on your preference, you will learn how to color this in thin layers using brushes, sponges, or rollers and how to remove the finished image from the plate using high-quality paper.

You can, of course, take the finished print home with you, as well as a written handout on the theory.

Various exciting printing templates will be provided. If you can already create your own printing template (black and white, high contrast, from a color laser printer, “normal” 80g paper), you are welcome to bring it with you and try it out.
