In this workshop, you will learn an experimental and particularly sustainable printing technique: milk carton etching. Instead of traditional metal plates, we use recycled beverage cartons, whose silver-coated interior is ideal for fine lines and structures. Using an etching needle or other simple tools, you can scratch lines, patterns, or entire motifs into the surface—the typical folds of the carton create exciting, unpredictable effects.
After designing the printing block, we color the plate and print it on high-quality paper using a roller press. This results in vibrant, characterful prints that look very different depending on the coloring and plate processing.
The workshop is ideal for beginners as well as anyone who likes to try out new, unconventional artistic methods. No prior knowledge is necessary—just curiosity and a desire to experiment.
