Linocut Christmas cards - Martina Dorsch
HoHoHo - Make your own Christmas cards. What could be nicer than giving your loved ones and friends homemade Christmas cards? Together, in a pleasant atmosphere, we will design our own Christmas cards using the linocut printing technique (other festivities may of course also be chosen). The second Sunday of Advent, December 7, 2025, is a wonderful date for this. I look forward to seeing you!
Linocut printing is a relief printing technique that captivates with its graphic expression. Using special tools, we carve the desired motif as a negative pattern into our linocut plates. This high-contrast technique captivates with its clarity. We then print our motifs onto paper. Famous artists such as Henri Matisse and Pablo Picasso used linocut printing and created many works of art using this technique.
Please bring:
Clothing that can get dirty.
You should bring a pre-selection of your own printed motifs in sizes ranging from DIN A5 to DIN A4 (maximum linocut plate size) to the course. If desired, bring your own special papers, e.g., watercolor paper, colored cardboard, thicker paper.
Material costs: Linocut plate, paints, and paper at cost price from the ZAM print workshop (paid for on site; card payment is possible).
